Lazarus is a given name and surname. The English form is from Late Latin Lazarus, which is from the Koine Greek name Lā́zāros (Λᾱ́ζᾱρος), derived from the Hebrew name Eleazar (אלעזר, Elʿāzār) meaning "God has helped".[1]
