Leonarda Jonie (born Leonarda Gjoni) is a Montenegrin-American[1] comedian and political commentator based in Austin, Texas.[2][3][4]
Jonie was born in Montenegro to a Albanian father and a Montenegrin mother[1] and raised in New York City.[3] She moved from New York to Austin, Texas to further her stand-up comedy career.[5]
Style and reception
Jonie’s comedy has been characterized by supporters as deliberately confrontational and provocative, often addressing topics that many audiences find uncomfortable or taboo. In interviews, she has stated that her intent is to challenge prevailing social narratives rather than to appeal to consensus opinion.[5]
She has been featured in such films, television series and podcasts as Jersey Shore Massacre,[6] Normal World and Kill Tony.[7]
