Les Misérables, subtitled Broadway Album or Original Broadway Cast Recording,[1] is an album containing a recording of the musical Les Misérables made by its 1987 Broadway cast. The album was released by Geffen Records in the same year.[2]

Critical reception
In a contemporary review for AllMusic, Sarah Erlewine writes: "The original Broadway cast recording contains some very fine performances, particularly by Colm Wilkinson (as Valjean) and Frances Ruffelle (as Eponine, the waif). The vocals on this recording are heavy on character, making it an interesting and entertaining listen."[2]
Chart performance
The album spent nine weeks on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, peaking at number 117.[4] Later, it spent dozens of weeks on Billboard's Top Pop Catalog Albums chart.[5]
