Liothorax plagiatus is a beetle in the subfamily Aphodiinae.[6][7] It was described by Carl Linnaeus in 1767.[6][8] It occurs in Europe, the Near East, and North Africa.[6] It has no known subspecies according to the Catalogue of Life.[9] It is saprophagous rather than a "true" dung beetle.[10]
