The list of institutions of higher education in Uttarakhand includes institutes of national importance, central universities, state universities, deemed universities, private universities, and numerous autonomous and government degree colleges.
Uttarakhand, a state in northern India, has emerged as a major educational hub, particularly in cities like Dehradun, Roorkee, and Pantnagar. Higher education in the state is regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC), along with statutory bodies such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The state is home to highly prestigious national institutes, including the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, the National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh.
