Liugou Township (simplified Chinese: 柳沟乡; traditional Chinese: 柳溝鄉; pinyin: Liǔgōu Xiāng) is a township under the administration of Jishishan Bonan, Dongxiang and Salar Autonomous County, Gansu, China.[1] As of 2022[update], it has 9 villages under its administration.[2]
The name "Liugou" means ditch with willow trees in Chinese. There are many willow trees growing in the ditch where the village is located, hence the name Liugou.[3]
Liugou was the epicenter of the 2023 Jishishan earthquake,[4] which killed at least 148 people.[5]
