From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luhu is a small town on the southwestern coast of the Indonesian island of Seram.[2] It lies near the end of the Huamual Peninsula, between Kulur and Urieng on the tip. Luhu is noted for its Makassan traders, exporting cloves from the port.[3] The clove industry took off in the first half of the 17th century, at the time when Luhu was a vassal of Tidore.[4] The Dutch secured a military post at Luhu.[5] The Luhu language is spoken in the vicinity.[6]
