Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 155 metres (509 ft)[2] and covers an area of 27.85 km2 (10.75 sq mi) (2024).[4]

Etymology

The name derives from Loyp (Leopold). Terra Loyp (1206), silva Loyp (1271), Laab (1400).[5]
