Mekhail Jacaques Sherman (born February 26, 2002) is an American professional football defensive lineman. He previously played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Georgia and Nebraska as a linebacker.
Mekhail Jacaques Sherman was born on February 26, 2002, in Baltimore, Maryland.[1] He grew up in a single-parent home in Baltimore with his mother and three siblings.[2] His father Varney Sherman is a politician in Liberia.[2] Mekhail is named after Mikhail Gorbachev.[2]
Sherman played high school football at St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C.[1] As a senior in 2019, he was one of five finalists for the high school Butkus Award, given to the best linebacker in the country.[3] Sherman was selected to play in the 2020 Under Armour All-America Game.[3]
