Macrogastra is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Clausiliinae of the family Clausiliidae, the door snails.[2]
Like all clausiliids, the shells of the species in this genus are sinistral, or left-handed in their coiling.
