Maechidius dani

Maechidius dani is a species of beetle of the family Scarabaeidae.[1] It is found in Indonesia (Irian Jaya),[2] where it occurs in mid-montane rainforests at about 2050 meters altitude.[3]

Description
Adults reach a length of about 9.10 mm. The dorsum and venter are uniformly black-brown, while the labroclypeus, mouthparts, antennae, legs and most of the venter are reddish brown.[3]
Etymology
The species is named after Dani, the main tribe and language of the Baliem Valley.[3]
