Her first novel, Infomocracy (2016), is the first in the series The Centenal Cycle.[5] The series also includes Null States (2017)[6] and State Tectonics (2018); the latter was nominated for a Prometheus Award in 2019[7] while the series was nominated for a Hugo Award the same year.[8]

Education

Older attended Harvard University for her undergraduate studies in literature. She then earned a master's degree in international relations and economics from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University. In 2019 she received a doctoral degree from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).[9] Her doctoral work explored the dynamics of multi-level governance and disaster response using the cases of Hurricane Katrina and the 2011 Tōhoku tsunami in Japan.[10]
