Manipur International University

Manipur International University (MIU) is an autonomous State private university situated in the State of Manipur, India. It is recognised by the State Government of Manipur. It is recognised and listed by UGC as a "State Private University" under sections 2(f) and 22 of UGC Act, 1956.

Achievements
The School of Biological Sciences at Manipur International University (MIU) has published the first-ever bacterial shotgun metagenomic gene sequence of Utong Ngari, a traditional fermented fish delicacy of Manipur.[1]
History
The Manipur International University was established as per the Manipur International University Ordinance, 2018 (Manipur Ordinance No.1 of 2018) which was notified in the Official Gazette on 26 June 2018.[2][3][4] It was continued and permanently recognised through the Manipur International University Act, 2018 (Manipur Act No. 2 of 2019) which was notified in the Official Gazette on 14 February 2019. It is recognised and listed by UGC as a "State Private University" under sections 2(f) and 22 of UGC Act, 1956.[5]
