History

In the EIA announcement of the Guangzhou East Ring intercity railway announced in 2015, there is a Taihe station set up in Taihe, which is an elevated station. Later, in the bidding documents approved by the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission in November 2016, all stations of the Guangzhou-Foshan East Ring elevated section were adjusted to underground stations, and thus the station was adjusted to an underground station.[3]

On 24 April 2020, construction of the underground diaphragm wall was completed.[4] On 10 November the same year, the first floor of the main structure was poured.[5]

On 25 November 2024, the station successfully transmitted power.[6]

Due to the existence of a station with the same name on the Chengdu–Kunming railway, the station was named Maofengshan station after the Maofeng Mountain Forest Park near the station before opening.[7] In May 2025, the station completed the "three rights" transfer.[8]

On 29 September 2025, the station opened.[1]
