Mary Hoade

Mary Hoade is a politician from County Galway, Ireland.
She was first elected as a Fianna Fáil councillor in the 1999 Galway County Council election for the local electoral area (LEA) of Oranmore.[1] At the 2014 Galway County Council election, following boundary changes, she was elected to the Tuam LEA.[2][3] She has been re-elected in every election since.[4]
After the 2014 elections, Hoade was selected as the cathaoirleach of Galway County Council as part of a Fianna Fáil–Fine Gael pact.[5][6]
She was one of three Fianna Fáil candidates to contest Galway West at the 2016 general election, along with incumbent Éamon Ó Cuív and former councillor John Connolly.[7] Hoade won 3.4% of the first-preference votes, and was not elected.[8]
In 2025, she was elected leas-cathaoirleach (deputy chairperson) of Galway County Council.[9]
