Mathics
Open-source computer algebra system
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mathics3 is a free and open-source computer algebra system (CAS) designed to provide functionality similar to the Wolfram Language. It enables symbolic computation, numerical evaluation, and mathematical visualizations. Mathics is implemented primarily in Python and is released under the GNU GPL version 3. It provides a notebook interface and command-line interface for interactive mathematical computation. The project aims to offer an open alternative to proprietary mathematical software systems such as Mathematica, allowing users to perform algebraic manipulation, calculus operations, and graphical visualization using a syntax largely compatible with the Wolfram Language.[1][2]
