Md. Abu Bakr Siddique

Siddique joined the 9th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service administration cadre in 1991.^[2]

In 2015, Siddique was the personal officer to the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.^[6] He was part of the inauguration run of the Dhaka to Agartala bus service.^[6]

Siddique was appointed the Chairman of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation in October 2020.^[7] He replaced Md Shamsul Rahman as chairman.^[8] He was the additional secretary of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs responsible for Political and ICT affairs.^[7]

In May 2021, Siddique was appointed the secretary of the Bridges Division of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.^[2] He was appointed the Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.^[2]

Siddique was appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Education in January 2022.^[9] After his appointment, Siddique paid tribute to the founder of Bangladesh, President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.^[9] Siddique led a team of the Ministry of Education in September 2022 to visit various universities in the Netherlands.^[10] He is the chairman of the Government Mohammadpur Model School & College.^[11] He was succeeded by Suleman Khan in January 2023.^[12]
