This species was first described in 1920 by American myriapodologist Ralph Vary Chamberlin.[2] He based the original description of this species on a holotype found by the American zoologist William M. This holotype is deposited in the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University.[2][3] This species is known only from Fiji.[1]
