The municipality lies at an altitude of 400 metres (1,300 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 17.07 km² (6.59 sq mi) (2025).^[4]

It has a population of 1369 people (31 December 2025).^[6]

In year 2021 was 1382 people by ethnicity 1347 as Slovak, 40 as Not found out, 3 as Czech, 2 as Romani, 2 as German, 2 as Hungarian, 1 as Russian, 1 as Other and 1 as Croatian.
