Examining these inscriptions, Sam discovers they are written in ancient Aramaic—the historical language of Jesus Christ. The messages translate to biblical proverbs, leading Sam to realize that the killer is a religious fanatic who believes he is performing a holy cleansing. He targets husbands, forcing them to pay with their lives for the perceived sins of their unfaithful or disobedient wives. Furthermore, the timeline of the murders is a twisted reenactment of the crucifixion of Christ: the victims are consistently kidnapped on a Friday, kept alive for three days, and their bodies are dumped on Easter Sunday.

To find the common thread, Sam summons the widows of the victims for a collective interrogation. He uncovers that all the women shared a past connection with a quiet classmate named Anand during their college years. However, when Sam tries to locate him, he finds no official record of Anand’s current existence, concluding that the killer assumed a new identity and is now living under the alias Peter.
