Menas (Byzantine general)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Menas (Greek: Μηνᾶ στρατηλάτου; d.June 637) was a Byzantine general (magister militum) and patrikios who commanded the garrison at Chalkis and died in the Battle of Hazir.[1] Although his exact title is unknown,[2] al-Tabari and Ibn al-Adim both attest that he was the second-in-command after Emperor Heraclius.[3][4]
