Mia Syn (born 1990) is an American registered dietitian and writer who advocates plant-rich dietary patterns.

Syn was educated at University of California, Berkeley where she obtained a BS in Nutritional Science Physiology and Metabolism.[1] She obtained a Master of Science in human nutrition from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.[1] She studied clinical nutrition at the Medical University of South Carolina.[2]

Syn is a Health Advisory Board Member of Forbes.[1] She is the host of Good Food Friday on ABC News 4 and has over 600 television appearances.[2] She is a scientific advisor for Goli Nutrition and Pantheryx.[1] Syn has contributed to Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health.[3]

Syn has written about the benefits of including limited amounts of animal-based protein in the context of a plant-based diet.[4] She has argued that meat should be treated like a condiment, not as a main dish.[4] In 2022, Syn authored Mostly Plant-Based which encourages people to eat more plant-based foods such as fruit, vegetables and whole grains and fewer animal foods but not ruling out entire food groups.[5]
