Miami Swim Week
Annual swimwear fashion week in Miami Beach, Florida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Miami Swim Week is an annual fashion week held in Miami Beach, Florida, United States. The event focuses on swimwear and resort wear collections and takes place each summer, typically between late May and July. The week features runway shows, designer presentations, trade exhibitions, and brand activations across venues throughout Miami Beach and the surrounding Miami area.
History
Miami Swim Week developed alongside the growth of South Florida’s swimwear industry and beach culture. Early swimwear presentations in Miami were often organized independently by brands and designers hosting shows in hotels, nightclubs, and beachfront venues across Miami Beach.
By the early 2000s the event had grown into an annual industry gathering centered around runway shows, retail previews, and trade exhibitions for swimwear designers and buyers. Over time the week expanded beyond a single centralized organizer and evolved into a collection of independent productions and fashion platforms occurring during the same period.
In the 2020s the Miami Swim Week calendar included multiple major production groups as well as dozens of smaller runway events, brand showcases, and private presentations held across South Beach. A 2024 event guide described the week’s largest platforms as Paraiso Miami Beach, Miami Swim Week The Shows, and Art Hearts Fashion.[1]
Most in-person events were cancelled or moved online during 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
