Michael Heinz Golding (born 23 May 2006) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL Championship club Leicester City.

Club career
Born in Kingston, Golding started his career at the academy of AFC Wimbledon,[2] before joining Chelsea in 2018.[4] He signed his first professional contract in July 2023.[5] Golding started training with the first team squad in 2023–24 season.[4] On 6 January 2024, he made his first team debut against Preston North End at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.[6]
On 7 July 2024, Golding signed for Leicester City.[7]
International career
In September 2021, Golding made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland under-16 team, both in friendly matches against Malta, scoring in a 6–0 win on 23 September 2021.[8][9]
Golding had represented England at under-16,[10] under-17 and under-18 level.[11][12] He had captained England at the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.[13] Golding is also eligible to represent Republic of Ireland through his family.[14]
On 2 November 2023, Golding was included in the England squad for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.[15]
Personal life
Golding is the brother of fellow professional footballer James Golding and scholar Aidan Golding.[16][17]
