Minnie Lee Maffett

Minnie Lee Maffett (September 9, 1882 – April 15, 1964)[1] was an American physician and surgeon,[2] known as the “Flying Doctor” for her many service trips to other countries.[3] While studying for her degree, she taught in public schools, and in 1906 became principal of a school in Cleburne.[1] Between 1907 and 1910, she acted as principal of the Corsicana State Orphan Home High School.[1]

Minnie Lee Maffett was born in Falls County, Texas on September 9, 1882, the daughter of Samuel Benton and Alice Clementine (Keller) Maffett.[1] She attended public schools, and graduated in 1902 from Sam Houston State Teachers College.[1]
