Miranda is a Maltese,[1] Portuguese,[2][3] Sephardic Jewish,[4] and Spanish surname of Latin origin, meaning "worthy of admiration".[citation needed]The name is also found in the Philippines, India (among the Goan and Mangalorean Catholics of Konkan Coast and among the Paravar of Southern Tamil Nadu).[citation needed]
