Miss Grand Bueng Kan (Thai: มิสแกรนด์บึงกาฬ) is a Thai provincial beauty pageant which selects a representative from Bueng Kan province to the Miss Grand Thailand national competition.[1][2][3][4] It was founded in 2016[5] by an education personnel Surachet Chaiwong (สุรเชษฐ ชัยวงศ์).[6]

Bueng Kan representatives have yet to win the Miss Grand Thailand title. The highest placement they obtained was in the top 20 finalists, achieved in 2017 and 2019 by Sopinat Makphon[7] and Anussara Panya, respectively.[8]

In 2016, after Miss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant. The license for Bueng Kan province was granted to a vocational teacher from Chiang Mai, Surachet Chaiwong,[6] who organized the first Miss Grand Bueng Kan pageant in Mueang Bueng Kan on April 19, 2016,[9] and named a 24-year-old Bangkok-based entrepreneur Buppa Nilsawat the winner.[5] Chaiwong relinquished the license to Natthaphong Khemsiri (ณัฐพงษ์ เข็มศิริ) the following year.[10]

The pageant was usually co-organized with other provincial pageants, such as Miss Grand Nong Khai in 2017 and 2019,[10][11] and Miss Grand Nong KhaiNong Bua Lamphu in 2020.[12] It was organized in Bueng Kan province only in 2016[9] and 2018;[2] the reaming editions happened in other provinces.[10][11][12][13]

The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the international tournament was appointed instead.[14]
