Mitchell Johnson (born 1964) is an American contemporary artist.[1][2][3][4] Johnson is known as a colorist.[5][6][7][8][9] His paintings often depict landscapes, architecture, and urban scenes.[10][11]

Johnson was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and grew up in New York and Virginia.[12][13][14][15] He studied painting at Staten Island Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Randolph-Macon College in 1986. From 1987 to 1988 he attended the Washington Studio School in Washington, D.C., and later he completed a Master of Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design in 1990.[16][17][18][19]
