Mitropoli

Mitropoli (Greek: Μητρόπολη, before 1915: Παληόκαστρον - Paliokastron[2]) is a village and a former municipality in the Karditsa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Karditsa, of which it is a municipal unit.[3] The municipal unit has an area of 57.894 km2.[4] Population 2,892 (2021). The village, the site of the ancient city of Metropolis, was renamed in 1915 to reflect the association.
