He assumed the role of the ninth president in 2026.[1] Prior to this role, he served as the seventh president of the University of North Florida from 2022 to 2025.[2]

Previously, Limayem served as the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida since 2012. During his deanship at USF, he raised over $126 million in donations for the college.[3][4]
