Morris Emmett "Snake" Bailey (May 26, 1925 – July 17, 2002) was an American professional football end who played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU). He played college football at Texas Christian University.
Morris Emmett Bailey was born on May 26, 1925, in Whitewright, Texas.[1] He played high school football and basketball at Vernon High School in Vernon, Texas.[1][2] He was given the nickname "Snake" while in high school.[3][2]
Bailey served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.[1] He was then a four-year letterman for the TCU Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University from 1946 to 1949, and was a two-time All-Southwest Conference selection.[1][2] In 1949, he set a school single-game record with 12 receptions.[2] Bailey graduated from TCU in 1950, and was inducted into the school's athletics hall of fame in 1974.[4][2]
