Mubarak Al-Kabeer (governorate)

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate (Arabic: محافظة مبارك الكبير, romanized: Muḥāfaẓat Mubārak al-Kabīr) is one of the governorates of Kuwait which mainly houses residential areas of Kuwait City. It was formed in 27 November 1999[2] when the Hawalli Governorate was split in two, and was formerly called Qurain Governorate. It was named after Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of the Sheikhdom of Kuwait.[3]
