Muqeem Khan (Urdu: مقیم خان) (born 1968) is a Pakistani who started working in the Hollywood visual effects industry in 1996.[1]

Education
Khan received a Master of Arts (MA) in industrial design in 1996 with specialization in computer graphics and animation from Advanced Computing Center for Arts and Design (ACCAD) and the Department of Design at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He also obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial design from the same university in 1994. In 2022, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from the Extended Reality Collaborative, School of Communication and Creative Industries at Charles Sturt University in Australia. [2]
Beyond his achievements in design and visual effects, Dr. Khan is also known as Dr. Muqeem Mursaleen and he is currently a licensed herbalist, pulse reader[3] and a recognized TED speaker.[4] He has continued his family's Unani medicine tradition, Hakeem Mursaleen Pvt. Ltd.. He was also awarded a research grant Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP)[5] in 2011 and in 2013 National Priorities Research Program (NPRP)[6] from Qatar National Research Funds (QNRF). From 2024 to 2025, he served as a visiting professor at the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI).[7]. He is currently working as a sessional faculty member at Aga Khan University.[8]

Khan has spoken on VFX in motion pictures, animation and emerging technologies.[9][10]
