Astrakhan Oblast is a southern region of Russia with a rich musical history. Modern institutions include the Astrakhan State Musical Theatre,[1] Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre,[1] Astrakhan State Conservatory,[2] and the Astrakhan State Philharmonic.
