Background
Halloween Havoc is a professional wrestling event currently produced by WWE. As the name implies, it is a Halloween-themed show held in October. It was originally produced as an annual pay-per-view (PPV) event by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1989 until 2000 as WWE purchased WCW in 2001. The 2000 event was the final Halloween Havoc until WWE revived the show as an annual event for their developmental brand NXT in 2020.[1] The 2020, 2021, and 2023 events were held as television specials of the NXT program on the USA Network, but for 2022, it was a livestreaming event.[2] The 2023 edition was also two nights.[3] It then returned as a one-night livestreaming event in 2024.[4]
On August 30, 2026, WWE announced that seventh Halloween Havoc for NXT, and 19th overall, would take place on Saturday, October 31, coinciding with Halloween. The announcement was made by Robert Stone during NXT Heatwave, where he confirmed that Halloween Havoc would be the next NXT Premium Live Event. The road to the event was announced to begin on the following episode of NXT. This will also mark the first time that WWE has scheduled the NXT edition of Halloween Havoc on Halloween day, not counting the second night of the 2023 edition.[5]
Broadcast outlets
In the United States, the event will be broadcast as a television special on The CW's linear channel, marking the first Halloween Havoc on The CW as NXT's livestreaming events began broadcasting on the channel in June after WWE's contract with Peacock for NXT's events expired in March.[6] Additionally, ESPN announced a deal with The CW in which CW Sports, including NXT's programming, would be simulcast on both The CW and ESPN Unlimited beginning August 4—ESPN Unlimited had already been broadcasting WWE's main roster livestreaming events since September 2025.[7][8] Outside of the U.S, it will air on Abema in Japan, SuperSport in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Netflix everywhere else.[9]
Storylines
The event will include that result from scripted storylines. Results are predetermined by WWE's writers on the NXT brand, while storylines are produced on WWE's weekly television program, NXT.[10][11]
