Narasimhanaickenpalayam

Narasimhanaickenpalayam is located in Coimbatore North taluk of Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.^[1] Spread across an area of 2.44 km² (0.94 sq mi),^[2] it is located in the western part of the state.^[3] It is one of the 33 panchayat towns in the district.^[4]

The town panchayat is headed by a chairperson, who is elected by the members, who are chosen through direct elections.^[5] The town forms part of the Kavundampalayam Assembly constituency that elects its member to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency that elects its member to the Parliament of India.^[6]

As per the 2011 census, Narasimhanaickenpalayam had a population of 17,858 individuals across 5,023 households.^[7] The population saw a marginal increase compared to the previous census in 2001 when 11,271 inhabitants were registered. The population consisted of 8,934 males and 8,924 females.^[2][8] About 1,646 individuals were below the age of six years.^[7] The entire population is classified as urban. The town has an average literacy rate of 89%. About 6.6% of the population belonged to scheduled castes.^[2][7]

About 42.7% of the eligible population were employed, of which majority were involved in agriculture and allied activities.^[2][7] Hinduism was the majority religion which was followed by 94.2% of the population, with Christianity (4.4%) and Islam (1.2%) being minor religions.^[9]
