Nebi Uzun (born 2 May 1993) is a Turkish freestyle wrestler. He won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg event at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games and the bronze medal at the 2015 European U23 Wrestling Championship. At age-group level, he won silver at the 2013 European Junior Wrestling Championships and bronze medals at the 2010 European Cadet and Junior Championships.[1][2][3]

Career

Uzun has competed for Şeker Ankara and has been coached by Elvan Mert since 2008.[1] He was active internationally from the mid-2000s and won bronze medals at both the 2010 European Cadet Championships and the 2010 European Junior Championships in the 50 kg division.[1]

In 2013, he won the silver medal in the men's freestyle 55 kg event at the European Junior Championships in Skopje. On his way to the final, he defeated France's Youssoup Deliev and Germany's Manuel Wolfer, and then beat Russia's Stepan Sorkomov in the semi-final on technical criteria after a 9–9 bout. He lost the final to Azerbaijan's Ruslan Surkhayev and finished with the silver medal.[1][4] He later finished seventh at the 2013 World Junior Wrestling Championships.[1]

At senior and U23 level, Uzun won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg event at the 2015 European U23 Wrestling Championship. He also competed at the 2014 Wrestling World Cup, where Turkey finished seventh, and later won the bronze medal at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.[1]

In 2019, representing Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, he placed third in the 61 kg division at the Universities Wrestling Turkish Championship and helped his university finish fifth in the freestyle team standings.[5]

In later years, he continued to compete internationally in the 61 kg division. He placed 11th at the 2024 European Wrestling Championships and won the bronze medal at the 2026 Yaşar Doğu Tournament.[1][2]
