Neha Bora

Neha Bora is a PhD student and an Indian activist. She is the National President of the All India Students' Association, which is affiliated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation. She is active in India's Gen-Z movements.[1][2][3]

Early life and education
Bora is from Khatima, Uttarakhand. Her father served in the Indian Army so she moved from city to city in her childhood. She is also a theatre artist.[1][4] She completed her BA from Delhi University, MA from Ambedkar University and is pursuing a PhD at the Jawaharlal Nehru University School of Arts and Aesthetics.[1][5]
Student activism
Bora gained national attention through her involvement in the 2026 Delhi Jantar Mantar protests,[6] which demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, over allegations related to paper leaks and the NEET exam irregularities.[6] Along with Sonam Wangchuk, she undertook a 23-day hunger strike in the national capital.[7][8] She started her hunger strike protest weighing 66 kilograms, and had lost around 7.5 kilograms by the end of it, and reached worrying levels of blood pressure.[4] She is regarded as instrumental in building a social movement that originated from a meme and political satire campaign circulated through the Cockroach Janta Party.[9] She also demanded the resignation of Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, alleging police brutality against the student and youth during the 2026 Sansad Chalo march organised by the Cockroach Janta Party.[10]
She has spoken on the privatisation of education, mob lynching, paper leak, justice for Bilkis Bano, Gaza genocide and Gaza humanitarian crisis.[11][7][12][13][14][15]
Neha Bora joined the 2026 Jharkhand student protests on 7 August 2026. She was attacked with ink by an unidentified man, accusing her of being "anti-national" and for her support of Umar Khalid.[16][17][18]
