Nekouzsky District

District in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nekouzsky District (Russian: Некоу́зский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the seventeen in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,954.3 square kilometers (754.6 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Novy Nekouz.[1] Population: 15,688 (2010 Census);[3] 19,756 (2002 census);[8] 23,931 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Novy Nekouz accounts for 22.1% of the district's total population.[3]
