Neuve-Chapelle

Neuve-Chapelle (West Flemish: Nieuwkappel) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France[3] It was the site of a First World War battle in 1915 about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Béthune and 16 miles (26 km) southwest of Lille.

In the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in the First World War, which began on 10 March 1915, it was captured.by the IV and I Indian Corps.[citation needed]
