Newcastle fishing disaster

54°11′53″N 5°53′05″W / 54.197929°N 5.884612°W / 54.197929; -5.884612 The Newcastle fishing disaster occurred in Dundrum Bay, off the coast of Newcastle, County Down, on 13 January 1843. Fishing boats from Newcastle and Annalong were caught in gale force winds. Fourteen boats sank, killing 73 men.[1]
