Species

Nihonhimea is a genus of spiders in the family Theridiidae. It was first described in 2016 by Yoshida.[1]

The genus name is a combination of Japanese 日本 nihon "Japan", and "-himea", possible from Japanese hime "princess".

As of 2025, the genus contains six species distributed across Asia, with some species extending to the Pacific islands and the Americas. Several species have complex taxonomic histories, with multiple synonyms and transfers between genera including Theridion, Achaearanea, and Parasteatoda.[1]
