Nivaashiyni Krishnan

Krishnan was born in Singapore and is of Indian descent, with family roots in Paramakudi, Tamil Nadu.^[2] She attended Tanjong Katong Primary School and Damai Secondary School, Singapore.^[3] Later, she moved to England, graduating in 'Fashion Media and Industries' from Goldsmiths, University of London.^[4]

In 2014, Krishnan made her industry debut as a model in a Singapore based Indian beauty pageant 'Miss Vasantham 2014', she finished in fourth place.^[5] She also won the ‘Miss Elegance’ title at a fashion event organized by Malabar Gold and Diamonds.^[6]

In 2016, Krishnan debuted as an actress in a supporting role as a high school student in the Singaporean-Tamil television series Vetri season 3, which aired on the local channel Vasantham.^[7] After a six year hiatus in 2022, she returned as a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss (Tamil) season 6 on Star Vijay, hosted by Kamal Haasan; on the 42nd day she was evicted.^[8][9] In 2025, she made her Tamil film debut in Oho Enthan Baby directed by Five Star Krishna, alongside Vishnu Vishal.^[10][11]

In 2026, Krishnan made her Hindi film debut as goddess "Rukmini" in Hardik Gajjar's Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam), her performance was critically acclaimed.^[12]

In 2025, Krishnan's unrelated Instagram post attracted media attention when former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin inadvertently reposted the upload; following the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) 2026 assembly election defeat, opposition parties cited the controversy as a reason.^[13][14]
