Novosilsky District

Novosilsky District (Russian: Новосильский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 778.3 square kilometers (300.5 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Novosil.[1] Population: 8,561 (2010 Census);[3] 10,591 (2002 census);[6] 16,800 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Novosil accounts for 42.7% of the district's total population.[3]
