Novospassky District

District in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Novospassky District (Russian: Новоспа́сский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,301.1 square kilometers (502.4 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Novospasskoye.^[1] Population: 22,478 (2010 Census);^[2] 23,852 (2002 census);^[6] 22,734 (1989 Soviet census).^[7] The population of Novospasskoye accounts for 49.3% of the district's total population.^[2]
