Nyala University

Nyala University is a public university located in Nyala in South Darfur, Sudan. It is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World[2] and of the Association of African Universities.[3] It was created to provide greater access to higher education in the Darfur region, where opportunities for advanced study were historically limited. Today, the university offers programs in diverse fields such as science, medicine, agriculture, education, and the humanities, aiming to train graduates who can respond to the region’s social and economic needs, particularly in health services and food production.

Beyond its local role, Nyala University is connected to wider academic networks. It is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), which fosters cooperation between universities in Muslim-majority countries,[4] and it also belongs to the Association of African Universities (AAU), a continental organization that supports collaboration and research across Africa.[5]
