Oktyabrsky District (Russian: Октя́брьский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,861 square kilometers (719 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Bogovarovo.[1] Population: 3,478 (2021 census);[7] 4,946 (2010 census);[3] 6,289 (2002 Census);[8] 7,658 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Bogovarovo accounts for 45.1% of the district's total population.[3]
