Other Mommy is an upcoming American supernatural psychological horror film[2] directed by Rob Savage and written by Nathan Elston. The film is based on the 2024 novel Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. It stars Jessica Chastain as a mother who must do everything to protect her daughter from a supernatural entity that resembles her. Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen also star in the film. James Wan serves as a producer through his Blumhouse–Atomic Monster banner, in association with Spin a Black Yarn.

Premise
A paranormal entity known as "Other Mommy" that takes on the appearance of a young girl's mother, threatens her family, haunting her home.

Production
In April 2025, it was announced that an adaptation of the novel Incidents Around the House was in development, with Rob Savage directing, Nathan Elston writing the screenplay, and Jessica Chastain starring in the lead role.[3] In May, Jay Duplass joined the cast.[4] Principal photography took place in Dublin, Ireland between May 12 and July 9, 2025.[5] Dichen Lachman joined the cast in the following month.[6] In July, Arabella Olivia Clark, Sean Kaufman, Adam Silver, Rosie Anne O'Gorman and Karen Allen were added to the cast with the film being retitled to Other Mommy.[7][8][9]
Marketing
The first trailer debuted during theatrical previews played before The Odyssey (2026). Audiences said that they found the trailer terrifying,[10] particularly the jump scare where the "Other Mommy"'s body is contorted underneath a table;[11][12] some viewers asserted that it should have been accompanied with a warning due to its imagery.[13]
