Our Time Is Up

Our Time Is Up is a 2004 live action short film, written and directed by Rob Pearlstein.
On January 31, 2006 it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 78th Academy Awards. The designated nominees were Pearlstein and producer Pia Clemente. The film did not win; the Oscar instead went to Six Shooter.
Plot
Dr. Stern, a psychologist, leads a well-ordered life. He gives his patients advice after listening carefully to them and assures them that everything will turn out for the best in the foreseeable future. Then he receives a call from his oncologist, who informs him that he only has a few weeks to live. Dr. Stern changes his treatment method. He no longer wants to relieve his patients of their problems in the foreseeable future, but immediately. He tries to do so with ruthless honesty.
