Paata Kurullo (Sinhala: පාට කුරුල්ලෝ) is a 2024 Sri Lankan comedy thriller teledrama broadcast on Hiru TV. The series is directed by Jayaprakash Sivagurunathan and written by Buddhika Semasinghe.[2] It is produced by Chamara Samarawickrama[4] and music direction is by Dinesh Dissanayake.[5] The serial stars Sajitha Anthony, Kusal Maduranga and Piyumali Edirisinghe in lead roles along with Dewmini Thathsarani, Palitha Silva, Nithya Devindi and Devinda Wickramasinghe in supporting roles.[6][7][8]

Production
The tele serial is directed by award-winning director Jayaprakash Sivagurunathan, who previously directed several popular tele serials such as Kalu Araliya, Kalu Kurulla, Haara Kotiya, Kotipathiyo, Sillara Samanallu, Nadagamkarayo and Paara Dige.[12] The series is written by Buddhika Semasinghe and produced by Chamara Samarawickrama with support of Saman Kumara and production management by Chinthaka Srimal.[25] Tharanga Niriella is the assistant director and second assistant director is Shehan Pehesara.[3] Thiwanka Udagedara for Helin Media is the editor, whereas cinematography and lighting handled by Niranga Sanjeewa with the camera support by Ranjan Kothalawala.[2]
Art direction by Vajira Priyashantha with the support of Lakshitha Madushan. Lighting support given by Bandula Priyantha with Damith Manawadu. Wasana Bandara is the make-up artist and Kushan Pathirana gave the support. Still photography by Pramuditha Dissanayake and transport support by Janaka Chaminda and Athula Mahanama. Audio visual recording done by Sujeewa Sampath.
Popularity
The telecasting starts on Hiru TV from Mondays to Thursdays at 8 pm from 10 May 2024.[5] The serial became very popular from the beginning and became YouTube trending.[9][26][10][27][28] At the Popular Awards 2024, the drama won the award for the Most popular teledrama of the year and lead actor Sajitha Anthony won the most popular actor award and lead actress Piyumali Edirisinghe won the Best upcoming actress award.[29]
